Erie Physician Network and Hamot Provide Enhanced Urgent Care Services - June 17, 2010

Erie, PA – Hamot Health Foundation has joined Erie Physicians Network (EPN) in a partnership to expand and enhance access to urgent care services for patients in the Erie community. Through this partnership, Hamot and EPN will now jointly operate the EPN Hamot Urgent-Care centers.

“Our partnership with Hamot will help us maintain the highest quality of care with the potential for future expansion to fulfill the community’s needs,” said Philip Cacchione, D.O., President of Erie Physician Network and a primary care physician at Pinecrest Family Practice on Pine Avenue.

EPN and Hamot already provide primary care services to a large percentage of the Erie community through twenty five practices located throughout Erie County. EPN has successfully offered Urgent-Care services for the past 3 years, first from a location in Summit Town Center on upper Peach Street and then expanding to a second location on West 26th Street and Peninsula Drive.

“This partnership brings two great organizations together to assure access to quality care to the patients of our community,” said Paul Mirone, M.D., primary care physician at the West Erie Medical Group on Peninsula near 16th Street and physician leading the Urgent-Care centers.

The EPN Hamot Urgent-Care centers offer hours on Monday – Friday from 10am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday hours from 10am to 5pm at both locations. When a patient is unable to see his or her primary care physician, the Urgent-Care provides an option for care from a board certified physician, with extended hours and free parking.
